The MUAS is a powered, fresh air supply system that’s ideal to balance the outgoing vented air from a 400+ CFM range hood required by the IRC. This solution is designed for residential kitchen supply systems that have exhaust needs of up to 750 CFM.

Powerful, vented range hoods exhaust smoke and grease from the kitchen to the outdoors, but an equal amount of supply air needs to enter the home to keep pressure levels balanced and avoid drawing air in from poorly suited places, such as chimneys, plumbing vent pipes, or even your garage. Supplying air back into the building can be done a few different ways and can be as simple as opening a window or door. However, these methods introduce potentially freezing cold air or unfiltered air into the building. The best solution is to install a MUAS that can also reduce a home’s energy bill by providing a balanced pressure scheme.

The MUAS 750 includes an 8” EC-motor fan with airflow up to 750 cfm (max), an 8” metal intake wall hood, an 8” motorized shut-off damper, an 8” filter cabinet with a pleated MERV 10 filter, an 8” duct silencer, and 3 pairs of 8” mounting clamps.

Each MUAS comes equipped with a Fantech Makeup Air Controller (FMAC). The FMAC provides automatic operation of the Makeup Air System. The makeup air flow rate automatically and infinitely varies proportionally with the speed at which the exhaust is operated by the homeowner. A neutral (balanced) pressure scheme is common, but the installer can also employ a slightly positive or negative pressure scheme should it be desired.

Eliseo, I went to the job site today with the homeowner.

1. None of the existing can lights were retrofitted to new LED fixtures. 2. The entry chandelier was not hung and has been on site for installation. The only thing that should have cover plates are the pendant lights as previously instructed. 3. The cabinet that sets on top of the countertop, we are missing the outlet that was to be placed near ceiling before cabinet can be installed. This was shown to you on site by the cabinet maker with the location marked for you. 4. None of the new can lights in the kitchen or pantry will turn on. There are some existing can lights that will not turn on either. I did not have anything with me to test outlets but all GFCI's were green so I will assume that they are working but this is not confirmed yet. 5. The outlet shown on the plans that is pointed out (on the attached) is missing and was to be ran in conduit through the base cabinets so that it was at the end of the cabinet run. 6. The outlet for the range vent hood is missing. I confirmed with Martin that this was indeed ran before drywall and he assured me it was. See attached text message. 7. The outlet for the left side of master sink was to be placed in linen closet with a dark brown outlet and cover plate. This outlet is missing all together. 8. Panel is not labeled correctly for a final building inspection

You have never received a confirmed meeting with Scott on November 29th, you may have requested one but NEVER did we say that Scott would be on site. Your contract is with Big Kahuna Construction not Scott. Conner, BKC superintendent was on site with you and your crew on November 29th. No emails have been ignored, your statement is false and I have copied your counsel and the ROC on everything. You have a set of plans for this project, they were emailed to you and they are also on site. These plans have not been followed nor are complete so I am unsure why a check for the final balance would be released. In addition, I cannot get a final electrical inspection due to the workmanship that has been performed. Lastly a signed waiver for the past payment and any future payments must be received by our office. The deadline was for you because an ROC complaint was filed and there is a timeline that needs to be followed per ROC guidelines, rules and regulations when a complaint is filed against your company. This is explained in the complaint and also can be found on the ROC website. Big Kahuna has continued to put you on notice because this job is moving forward and we are trying to mitigate your damages to drywall, paint, cabinetry, etc. etc. Countertops are being installed next week, we do advise that electrical corrections be completed before then as this will be a very costly expense should countertops need to be removed due to cabinetry damage/replacement, if necessary, because of the incomplete electrical work. Removal of installed countertops have no guarantee that they can be re used because if removed there is a chance of damage. We are trying to work with Sevilla Electrical on this job site. As noted in the past and once again, notice of your arrival is pertinent as directions/plans thus far have not been followed and we need to ensure the job site is open for you to gain access. Your urgent attention to this matter is respectfully requested.

As of writing this email this morning, no attempt to correct the list of items has been completed by Sevilla Electric LLC.

Sevilla was put on notice that countertops were being installed today.

In attempts to settle this complaint, Big Kahuna has continued to reach out to Mr. Sevilla's attorney listed on the complaint, Lee Henman.

Mr. Lenman has not made contact with Big Kahuna Construction although we were promised a response last week Friday or by this past Monday. We instead received the below email:

It will be the upmost importance that we get the homeowners back into their home before Christmas, they will be without a home to live in on December 23 as their rental contract is ending. If Big Kahuna has to pay for them to move elsewhere and pay rent, we do plan on making any fees the responsibility of Sevilla Electric. All trades have been put on notice that our last day we can work at this job is December 20, so that cleaners can come in and prepare the home for move in. We are hopeful that a quick decision can be made at the ROC job site inspection scheduled for Monday 12-18-23 at 11AM and all items be documented for the purpose of the ROC complaint.

At this time, I cannot call a final inspection for the building permit. I cannot get appliances installed. The lighting has not been corrected as of sending this email as the homeowners hired electrician spent several hours troubleshooting and cannot get the can lights to stay on. I cannot get cabinetry completed until items are addressed.

We are hopeful that Mr. Sevilla would reach out to us between now and Monday to schedule corrections and complete his contract with Big Kahuna Construction.

REVISED SINCE 12-1-23, IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION 9. Missing under cabinet lighting as per plan and missing switch to turn on this lighting.

Mr. Sevilla has sent an invoice for the contract balance and demanding payment. This invoice cannot be paid until work has been completed, the waiver has been signed and we have a passed final electrical inspection.

Mr. Sevilla can be granted access at anytime should he like to schedule these corrections/completion items before the ROC meeting on Monday. Ample notice must be given as the cabinet maker would like to be on site to make sure his cabinetry is not damaged when conduit is ran for electrical (item #5 listed above).

Julie, on the refrigerators, we might be able to find the more expensive model at a diﬀerent store for cheaper (they regularly have scratch and dent versions that we are watching for) but I believe the outside specs would be the same. I guess the only thing diﬀerent is the hot water on the door but I don't know if that requires a hot water tap hook up or the unit actually heats the water. Let me know if there is a diﬀerence. I really don’t know specific answers regarding appliances, we always go oﬀ the specs that are provided. Sorry!

I sent both sets of specs and thought maybe you could discern that from the specs.

On the microwaves, the outside specs are the same. Nathan recommended the one where you wave your hand in front of it to open, but in our experience that always breaks so we may default to the 2nd one with the flip down controls. Let me know if there is a diﬀerence in the specs that you need us to make a decision Again, I am not sure if there is a diﬀerence but from past experience microwaves tend to have standard widths, the only thing I can think is with the flip down controls, we need to make sure there is space between countertop and flip down which may eﬀect the height of that specific cabinet opening.

OK let’s go with the one with the flip down. I took oﬀ the one we don’t want on this email. I will let Nathan know.

Eliseo,

You are mistaken.

On March 10th a set of plans was emailed to Martin. On March 13, Martin responded with a quoted price of $16,724. This was outrageous and not accepted. Sevilla bid this job thinking it was a new build. Instead you and Martin met Conner on site on June 19th so that you all could walk the job. On June 26th, Martin then responded saying that you could do the job for $7898. Approval for that was given on June 29th. See text messages (attached). You were paid half of this agreed upon amount.

NO CHANGE ORDERS WERE PROVIDED other than the additional tub outlet for $350. For a total of $8248.00 of which you have been paid $3900.

The job remains incomplete. Damage to drywall, paint and cabinetry was made by Sevilla Electric. A new electrician has to be hired to finish, repair and complete this job.

You were given several opportunities to complete this work before drywall, before cabinetry, before countertops and a hard deadline by the ROC. Ultimately the ROC has found in our favor and has issued a citation against your license.

The costs of the new electrician to finish and repair your work, the drywall repairs, the re painting and cabinetry costs will be provided to Sevilla Electric when we are able to complete this job. If there is a balance due to Sevilla or if Sevilla will owe Big Kahuna is not yet determined since the job is in progress on finishing the electrical.

It is unethical and against standard business practice to not complete the job, change the terms of the agreed upon price to what fits you, add change orders that were never approved and try and charge us for work not done. You failed the final City inspection. Again, you had several opportunities to avoid this but you chose not to.
