MINUTE ENTRY - GRANTING CONTINUANCE

AND SETTING STATUS DATE

The hearing of this matter was scheduled for February 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. On the date and time set for hearing, Shawn Richter, Esq. represented Michelle Slenske (“Complainant”) who was present. Will Breier, Esq. represented Sun Country Renovations, LLC (“Respondent”). Stephen Garrett, Respondent’s President and owner, was present. Arizona Registrar of Contractors Investigator Lisa Melton appeared as a witness. Prior to the commencement of the hearing, the parties participated in a prehearing discussion outside of the presence of the Administrative Law Judge. That discussion did not result in a resolution of the matter. Consequently, the matter proceeded to hearing.

Following opening statements, the parties once again engaged in a lengthy settlement discussion outside of the presence of the Administrative Law Judge. As a result of that discussion, the parties entered into a settlement agreement, however, needed additional time in which to execute the terms of the agreement.

Therefore, good cause appearing, the hearing in the above-entitled matter is continued and set for a Status Update on March 1, 2024. On or before this date, Complainant’s Counsel is advised to do one of the following:

Inform the Tribunal that the matter has been satisfactorily resolved by submitting a Motion to Vacate the hearing;

Inform the Tribunal that the parties need additional time to resolve the matter by submitting a Motion to Continue and reset for Status by 30-days, 45-days, or 60-days; or

Inform the Tribunal that the parties are unable to resolve their dispute and request that the matter be set for hearing.
