IN THE OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS

Following hearing, the Administrative Law Judge ordered that the parties file simultaneous briefs by the close of business on November 20, 2017 addressing the following issues: 1. Does Respondent fail with the definition of the term “contractor” pursuant to A.R.S. § 32-1101(A)(3) such that he is subject to the jurisdiction of the Registrar of Contractors in regards to the work he performed for the church? 2. Does the handyman exemption apply to the work Respondent performed for the church? 3. How, if at all, does the fact that the work performed by Respondent violated a stop work order and raised potential safety issues in a place of public accommodation affect the analysis in this case? No later than November 27, 2017, the parties shall advise the Tribunal whether they would like to file a response to the other side’s brief. If so, the Tribunal will extend the time the record is held open. In light of the foregoing, IT IS ORDERED that the record be held open until the close of business on November 27, 2017.
