HEARING: January 2, 2002. APPEARANCES: Complainant represented herself. Respondent did not appear. ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGE: Gregory L. Hanchett _____________________________________________________________________ FINDINGS OF FACT This matter was set for hearing on January 2, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. At that time, Complainant appeared telephonically and indicated that she wished to withdraw her appeal as she and Respondent had entered into a monetary settlement agreement with respect to the issues of the complaint that resolved the concerns she had raised in the complaint. Complainant’s desire to withdraw the complaint obviated the need for any hearing and the record in this matter was then closed. CONCLUSIONS OF LAW 1. The policy of the law favors settlements of disputes and adverse parties should be free to adjust their differences by entry into agreements or stipulations of settlement which should be recognized and given effect by all tribunals. . . .

2. The parties’ monetary settlement in this matter and Complainant’s request to withdraw the appeal merit the termination of the instant hearing. RECOMMENDED ORDER In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that Citation No. 01- 1278, together with the complaint, be closed. Done this day, January 2, 2002
